Coach Evans has been coaching since her days as a graduate assistant at Western Carolina University. She served as a basketball assistant for two years. After she left Western Carolina, she went on to be an assistant basketball coach at Newberry College for three years. During her time at Newberry, she was also the golf coach for two years. In 2000, she moved back home to teach and coach at her alma mater. She has been coaching basketball since then and in 2002, revived the women's golf team.
