Athletic Participation Information

The Davie County High School athletic staff wants your son or daughter's participation in athletics to be enjoyable and worthwhile. Our goal is to develop not just athletes, but well-rounded young men and women as well. We expect them to be diligent students and leaders within the school. Whether they realize it or not, as soon as they commit to athletics, they also commit to becoming role models and ambassadors for Davie County High School. Therefore, we have established these policies to ensure that our athletes maintain a high level of academic and athletic achievement as well as acceptable sportsmanship.

Please be aware that your son/daughter will be accountable to his/her actions and the following policies during the time he/she is in school or out of school. This begins with the first practice established by the state and concludes with the last game date. This expectation is based upon the concept that, as an athlete, a student represents his/her team and school 24 hours a day.

Prior to the first contest of each sport season, an athlete's parent is expected to attend any meeting called by the athletic director or coaches. The parent and athlete will be required to sign a statement at the beginning of each sport season acknowledging that he or she has been made aware of the policies and understands them.
